::Hexagons By Machine:: Thursday, November 21st from 6-9pm at The Quilting Loft in Ballard. Love hexagons, but dread hand piecing? Love sewing hexagons by machine, but find marking tedious? Be prepared to love machine-piecing hexagons and master the dreaded Y-seam with ease. Students will make a baby quilt and sew all those hexagons with no marking. In addition Katie will teach a quick and easy technique for cutting all those hexagons in no time.
::Fabric Bucket Workshop/Explore Free-Motion Quilting::

Create some fun containers in this all day workshop. Practice multiple free-motion quilting designs like meanders, geometric, edge-to-edge, echoing and curves risk free on Bernina machines to create a stacking set of containers in this all day workshop. Pick your favorite prints to make them unique to you.

Step into the present with this modern version of crazy piecing from the Going Crazy Chapter in Quilting Modern: Techniques and Projects for Improvisational Quilts. The free-flowing take on this technique will leave you inspired to find a place for crazy-piecing in every project! Once you’ve mastered the technique, we’ll focus on finding a place for those crazy pieced sections in your quilt. Katie will share multiple projects to spark your creativity and set you on the path to your own crazy-pieced design.

Sunday, December 15th from 10am-4pm at Drygoods Design in Ballard.
Just in time for the holidays, learn the basics of straight-line quilting with a walking foot AND create a boxed corner market bag with the simple Quilt As You Go method (QAYG). This technique is a fun, foolproof and laid-back approach to straight-line quilting basics. Log cabin blocks with scraps or your fabrics of choice create QAYG panels that can be placed in an array of projects.

Join Katie Pedersen, author of Quilting Modern: Techniques and Projects for Improvisational Quilts, for a full day workshop focusing on the improvisational elongated triangle technique. With this simple technique we’ll design a unique pillow top and learn how to finished it off with an invisible zipper closure. Combine simple sewing with a new skill to create modern edgy triangle blocks.
